UNB Cryptography

| UNB Cryptography Group INFO | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The UNB Crytography Group was started by Jeff Gilchrist in January 1997. The purpose of this group is to use the IDLE and therefore unused CPU cycles of the computers at UNB and the computers of students from UNB in various distributed computing efforts to publicly break encryption algorithms. By publicly breaking encryption algorithms, the weak ones will be discovered so people will know not to use them. We have been working closely with distributed.net to help them with their international distributed computing projects. The UNB Cryptography Group would like to thank the Faculty and Staff of Computer Science and Computing Services at the University of New Brunswick for their support and help with our projects. |
